Hi, I’m Ryan, the artist behind Wild Sunflower — a small, woman-owned, locally made business based in Germantown, Maryland.

What began as a childhood fascination with rocks and minerals — and a simple hobby of beading and wire work — has grown into a love for silversmithing and a meaningful creative practice rooted in slow fashion, intention, and connection. After years working as a professional chef, I found myself craving a slower pace, more time with my children, and a creative outlet beyond the kitchen. Metalsmithing and wire-wrapping became that outlet, and soon, Wild Sunflower was born.

Each piece of jewelry is handmade using sterling silver, 14k gold-filled materials, and genuine gemstones. My designs range from minimalist everyday staples to elegant, expressive statement pieces — all crafted with care and intention, inspired by the natural beauty around us.

Beyond jewelry, I continue to offer personal chef services and host intimate dinner parties for beloved clients. I’m a proud lover of all things handmade — when I’m not in the studio, you’ll often find me crocheting, making homemade jams at my cabin in West Virginia, or spending time doing puzzles and playing board games with my family. My dog, Dude, is always close by, reminding me to slow down and enjoy life’s simple joys. These peaceful, creative moments fuel the heart of Wild Sunflower and inspire the jewelry I create.
