Meet the maker
Hi, I’m Ryan — the artist and maker behind Wild Sunflower.
My love for creating started early, with a childhood fascination for rocks and minerals, a teenage obsession with silver jewelry, and countless hours spent beading and experimenting with wire. What began as a simple hobby slowly grew into a deep appreciation for silversmithing and a creative practice rooted in intention, connection, and slow fashion.
Before Wild Sunflower, I spent years working as a professional chef. While I loved the creativity of the kitchen, I found myself longing for a slower pace, more time with my family, and a hands-on outlet that felt grounding and personal. Metalsmithing and wire-wrapping became that outlet — a way to work with my hands, honor natural materials, and create pieces meant to be worn, loved, and lived in.
Alongside jewelry, I still offer personal chef services and host intimate dinner parties for wonderful, longtime clients. When I’m not in the studio, you’ll usually find me immersed in something handmade — crocheting, making homemade jams at my cabin in West Virginia, or cozying up with puzzles and board games with my family. My dog, Dude, is almost always nearby, gently reminding me to slow down and savor the simple things.
These quiet, creative moments are the heart of Wild Sunflower. They inspire jewelry made for people who value authenticity, individuality, and thoughtful craftsmanship. Each piece is created with care and meant to feel as unique as the person wearing it.
Thank you for supporting my small business and choosing handmade jewelry that celebrates natural beauty and personal style. I hope every piece brings a little sparkle and joy into your life — just as making them brings joy into mine.
Wishing you peace, beauty, and plenty of moments to shine,
Ryan Diaz
